During this workshop, children were given props and costumes to help them dress like Roman slaves and citizens, along with some background information about Roman life in Britain. The children were told about the different people (slaves, traders, fashionable ladies, local dignitaries etc) who might be found in the forum of a major British town during the Roman occupation. They participated in a dramatic reconstruction of a market scene. The children were be given props and costumes to help them recreate some of the games and contests that the Romans might have watched. One of the children was given the role of the Emperor.
