Sports Representatives
How do we elect Sports Represenentatives?
At the beginning of a school year, each class democratically elects a Sports Rep. All pupils have the opportunity to listen to the candidate speeches and then vote for 1 person to represent their class to ensure that we promote and encourage PE, School Sport and Physical activity in our school.
What do our Sports Representatives do?
Sport Reps help our school to achieve the highest possible standard in School Games Mark (we are currently a Platinum school) and our Healthy Schools Award (physical activity strand).
They help to ensure participation in sporting activity - suggesting new ideas and encouraging others to join in. They support our school in taking part in competitions. They suggest and take part in activities we offer in school with clubs from our local area.
Further, our sports reps carry out roles like leading warm-ups in PE lessons, helping set-up and deliver school sports' days and collecting in and organising sports' equipment.
They are excellent role-models during all physical activities including: physical skills (learning new skills), social skills (teamwork and collaboration), emotional skills (supporting and encouraging others) and thinking skills (tactics and strategic).
